Okay Whiz Kids....We are approaching week four of school. I hope that you have thought about the 7 Habits and how you will use them in your life at home and at school. I am proud of you for making the the needed adjustments to become better leaders. You are doing a great job! Here are some things to think about as you prepare yourself for The Literacy Lounge daily.
1. Bring all of your supplies for class with you. This includes both of your library books.
2. Remember to keep your library books for the week because you will need them for
activities in the classroom.
3. Do your homework EVERY night. As we discussed, this is practice for skills that we have
learned in class and helps you to understand the concepts taught. Practicing at home ensures that you will make good grades and reach the goals that YOU have set for
yourself. Remember, great football players/athletes, singers, actors and students
become great by PRACTICING their craft. One cannot become an AWESOME
quarterback without practicing throwing, catching and learning the football plays.
4. ALWAYS give your best effort. You cannot give anymore than your best. Mistakes will be
made and sometimes you may not be happy with your result BUT as long as you have
given your best effort, I am pleased. We will work together to become better so do not
stress! TOGETHER, that means we will BOTH work hard to reach our goals . I am
always here to help you.
5. BE PROACTIVE. Being proactive allows you to prepare for what is to come. Studying is
a perfect example of being proactive. It allows you to practice what is new or what you
don't understand so that you can ask questions about the things that are troublesome. It
also allows you to reinforce the skills that you will need to master. Waiting until the last
minute to complete tasks makes your day stressful and makes you feel rushed.
(HINT: Homework)
REMEMBER WHIZ KIDS: WE CAN! WE WILL! SUCCESS IS THE ONLY OPTION!
